Artist Yuma Nishimura invited me to have a conversation about the art world between France and Japan within the programming of his solo show Bilateral Reminiscence at the 229 Gallery in Tokyo.
The event took place on November 18th, 2023, joined by the audience in an informal setting we were able to touch on the difficult topics of starting a career in the arts for young artists, the cultural differences within the act of collecting, as well as the changes which could improve the artists’ conditions within the art world.
The conversation, going back-and-forth between English and Japanese, was also broadcasted live on the gallery’s Instagram account.
